Bargaining Power of Suppliers

The ability of providers of goods or services to influence prices, quality, delivery and payment terms in their favour.

Simple example

If only one company supplies a café’s particular coffee blend and switching to another product is difficult, that company may have more influence in price negotiations.

Why does it matter?

It helps businesses recognise supplier dependence, develop alternatives and assess purchasing terms more carefully.
