Artificial Intelligence
Artificial intelligence
An umbrella term for methods that enable computers to perform tasks such as processing language, distinguishing images, and making predictions and recommendations.
Simple example
A travel app might use AI to suggest places that suit someone looking for a quiet weekend. Another app might draft a day plan based on the same person’s request.
Why does it matter?
AI is not the name of a single application. Different systems can be good at different tasks. When assessing a product, look at what it does, what information it uses, and how you can check the result. A task being carried out automatically does not, on its own, mean that AI is involved.
