Simple example
You save your trip plan and ask for a reminder at a particular time in the morning. The app sending a notification when that time arrives is a simple example of automation.
Why does it matter?
It helps recurring tasks run more consistently. Not all automation uses AI: a notification can follow a fixed time rule. AI can be added to some steps of an automated process when needed. When assessing a feature, distinguish between running automatically and learning from information or creating content.
